Oh dear! No deer.... yet!

The distinct advantage of marrying a hunter is that you are likely to have lots of meat around. Now I'll admit that venison tastes different than beef and in some cases I still want beef. For instance when I want a nice big juicy steak, I want beef. Almost everything else I prefer venison. I will argue with anyone that ground venison (which is mixed with a little beef) is much better than straight ground beef. The venison sausage is awesome as well as the jerky we get. Oh and the venison tamales... the best I've ever had and I grew up in a town where I could get good authentic tamales too.

So far this year, we have no venison! The husband didn't go to Arkansas during Thanksgiving this year. He has been hunting but the lease that he is on doesn't seem to have that many deer. The husband is in Arkansas right now and they are doing some game management for some land owners. They can almost kill as many doe as they want and as my hunter says, "You can't eat the horns!" Today they saw no doe (or legal bucks for that matter). Hopefully tomorrow will be better. I don't wanna buy meat this year!!

Kill a bunch of doe for me honey! I'm behind you!!
