Several of my friends and coworkers still don't have power. I am now wishing them well and hoping they will get power soon too!
I don't know if anyone reading this is one of the workers that came here to help with the recovery. If you are or if you know someone that came here, I would personally like to thank all of them for the hard work to get this city back up and running. I know that they are making a sacrifice being away from their friends and family back home and all of the long hours they are working. The city of Houston is truly grateful for the help! Big bear hug for all of y'all!

If you guys want a change of scenery this weekend, come up to the north side and we can have a little pool party on Sunday.
I know this may seem like a bizarre question but here it goes. Have you heard from Rhona (B.S. Cafe)? She last posted on Sept 11 that her and the clan were evacuating and she hasn't posted since. I've just been thinking about her a lot lately and hoping things are okay.
I'm really glad you got your power back. Thanks for the "inside" perspective of that crazy weather.
~sheryl - I haven't talked to her personally but I'm told that she stayed with friends during the storm. She got her power back quickly and returned home not too long after the storm passed. I also am told that she has several people staying with her until they get power back too so she probably has her hands full at the moment! :)
Carol, thank you so much for the update. Even though we saw the end of the storm up here in Michigan and it rained like a biotch, I just can't wrap my brain around that kind of weather. Or the insanity it must cause.
